Another day of neck pain and cold symptoms. It sucks
getting old being sick. The big news in State College is the stabbing death of a 19-year-old boy from the area. http://www.centredaily.com/2012/01/18/3056541/police-say-marijuana-theft-led.html
At the chiropractor this morning, the office was abuzz with thoughts that this was a result of video games or that the kid who fatally stabbed the victim would get off on self-defense. The only thing I could think about is “Where were their parents?” One of the kid’s parents is our newly elected county commissioner. I have to wonder what sort of things he instilled in his son to land himself in this place.
I know at times, we have had a rough road with our son, and maybe we haven’t made all the right decisions, but I do believe he ended up in a good place. He is a bright, sensitive, smart, and funny boy.
I was missing him tonight and this picture made me laugh. He allowed me to work him for about two hours during our vacation on Tilghman Island on the Chesapeake for his yearbook pictures. He’s a really great kid, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world.
