(Note: I am posting this a few days late…)

Today marked my 19th wedding anniversary. My husband asked me if I wanted to go out or if I wanted fried chicken and mashed potatoes. My first response was to ask if he’d hit the lottery as we couldn’t afford to go out. So he said we would have the chicken.

Considering we have just started doing P90X, I was going to be damned if I consumed 2,000 calories. I recommended a grilled chicken salad. And that’s what we did. It was less caloric, very tasty, and we had fun dicing up all the veggies for the salad in the kitchen together.  Not bad for 19 years together.

  1. Hi, I like your blog. I was attracted by this picture because my Grandma had plates just like that. My mom uses them now. Congratulations on your anniversary. My husband and I will celebrate 3 years in June.

  2. Hi Patty,
I think these plates are like Twinkies…they could survive an apocalypse, and they are a uniting thread upon many. Congrats on your upcoming 8!
